Vintage Inspirations for a Modern Day Bride

Categories: Dresses and Accessories

Must have! Guipure Lace Mantilla Veil by Theia. Gorgeous!

You must have this veil!
I came across this beautiful veil by Theia and I just had to share immediately! I just love Mantilla Wedding veils (In fact…so much so, I used to…and still do on occasion, design them myself!). I am in love with this veil, am so inspired and can I just say.. my heart is seriously skipping a beat right now!! I love that is an all Guipure Lace veil! You just don’t see as many 100% lace veils for some reason. This stunning veil in all it’s glory,  has that european, vintage designer look to the core! At the same time,  it’s just so delicate yet substantial and really prominate of that elegant old world feel. If you are considering a traditional Mantilla Lace veil, I would highly consider this one.

What a deal!

Another thing I am loving about this veil is the price! Now,mind you…this is a designer couture veil by up and comer design team Theia, it’s 43 inches long and the price for this veil is $395 on shop bop  and I find that VERY reasonable for a beautiful piece like this! A true find and will stay in your family for years to come & be a very special veil for your own daughter  (or daughter-in law) to wear. Incredible find!

What is Guipure Lace?

You’re probably wondering…what is Guipure? Well, I will give you the short version of a very long answer! Guipure comes from a french word meaning vellum or parchment and is a heavy lace with no net background. To make Guipure lace, the old French lace makers would form the outlines of the pattern on the parchment. The patterns were held together with “brides” or “bars” made with a needle and thread. Now days, of course the lace is sewn by machine, using cotton or rayon to acetate the background.

Check out this amazing vintage inspired lace veil!

Enjoy!

Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just
your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and all.
But just imagine if you added some great visuals or videos to give your posts more, “pop”!
Your content is excellent but with pics and videos, this blog could undeniably be one of the greatest in its field.

      Awesome blog!
