Chic 1920’s Vintage Style Bridal Headpieces from ShopBop’s wedding boutique! Amore..

Well, it’s mid February already (?!) and I am sure lots of you are starting to get down to the wire if you have a spring or summer wedding and probably shopping for your bridal accessories! I am so so excited to introduce our new partner Shopbop and their wedding boutique which is spectacular!!!! What I really love about all these different headpieces below…is they are more like a headpiece “jewell” if you will….and very special and most definitely unique. I feel all the different designers shopbop features have a certain interesting look to them and very 20’s bohemian art deco mixed with a little grecian thrown in ….and who doesn’t love that!?! Really Really very pretty and delicate against the face! Have you decided it you will wear a veil for your ceremony or a headpiece? Celebrity Inspiration – Brazilian model Caroline Trentini weds in custom Oliver Theyskens bridal dress!

When I decide to do a post on weddings I love in the media, they have to be a wedding where I IMMEDIATELY gasp with a “wow”!! When I first saw these pics in Vogue last year on model Caroline Trentini’s wedding…I did just that! Swoon!!! After announcing their engagement on Twitter last November 2011, model Caroline Trentini and photographer Fabio Bartelt were married March 3rd, 2012 at a church in Santa Catarina, Brazil. Trentini wore a dress and veil designed by Oliver Theyskens — with a bit of a resemblance to Kate Middleton’s wedding gown… Gorgeous is all I have to say!!

“When Caroline Trentini was fifteen, the model began a running joke with Olivier Theyskens that one day, he would design her wedding dress, and over the years the two playfully renewed the pact backstage at his shows and whenever they met. Oliver Theyskens approached the dress as a representation of the bride herself: a contrast, as he puts it, between strength and sweetness. He chose a dense gold satin coated in white pigment, which appeared faintly matte gray in the evening light in Itajaí, Brazil, the beachside town where the wedding took place and where Bartelt was raised. For a touch of delicacy, the dress was overlaid with white lace, forming a plunging neckline and gracefully slim sleeves. “The fabric is where something was happening,” Theyskens says, though the satin did not arrive from Italy until a week before the wedding.”

Celebrity Inspiration – Kate Moss’s vintage inspired wedding dress and veil on a budget!

Hands down – Looking back..Kate Moss’s dress and veil are one of my favorite vintage inspired weddings by far! I just adored everything about this wedding; it’s classically beautiful and so ethereal, I had to dedicate a post to it! At the end…I have added a few examples of similar dresses and veil you can find for a much cheaper price and still have her vintage chic style! Kate is the original boho chic style icon and I am in love with her unique style all her own.

On July 1st, 2011 Kate Moss married Jamie Hince, a guitarist for the Kills, at St Peters Church in Southrop, England in the Cotswolds countryside area. It was a gorgeous midsummer 1920’s Great Gatsby feel of a wedding and gorgeous! Kate’s dress was a beaded, fitted, sheath mermaid gown with a train and designed by close friend John Galliano. Every details was very Kate and loved that it was so fresh, delicate and so so pretty…

Featured Designer – Jenny Packham and her fabulous Bridal line!

Jenny Packham is a British fashion designer known primarily for her bridal gowns and ready-to-wear collections. Take a look at the pics below to see what amazing work she does. Her dresses are both elegant, feminine and have a vintage flair which is like no other. I am in awe as I looked at these pics!

Jenny Packham was born in Southampton, Hampshire England in 1965. She is a graduate from the prestigious Central St Martins College of Art in London. Jenny Packham’s early training as a textile designer became an important influence on her later eveningwear. Her first collection of 12 short evening gowns was created entirely in black and white silk, with a bold print of musical instruments. The short evening dress continued to be the principal style in her collections, although full-length dresses were introduced in 1992. She also began designing wedding gowns in the 1990s which continue to amaze and delight gorgeous brides all over the world!

Her presence on the red carpets of Los Angeles events… from the Academy Awards to the Grammy’s, infuses the Hollywood crowd with the luxurious glamour they adore. Celebrities and royalty who adorn her dresses are the likes of Kate Middleton, Angelina Jolie, Heidi Klum, Cat Deeley, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Eva Longoria, Kate Winslet…and the list goes on!

Featured Designer – Alice Temperley of Temperley London Bridal

I like it when I see a designer’s dresses that are so unique that it excites me like no other that I just have to blog about them immediately! It is rare to find a designer so different, heart stopping and special and Alice Temperley’s designs are just that. I thought it was worth doing an entire post dedicated to her as we end this week. Her designs are like pieces of art and when you wear one of her dresses, I imagine it is as if you are wearing a masterpiece! Vintage inspired heirloom feel.. with a flair of edgy modern couture..

Alice Temperley grew up in Somerset, on her parent’s ciderfarm before moving to London to attend university. Temperley graduated from the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins before setting up her company, Temperley London, together with her then boyfriend (now husband) Lars von Bennigsen in 2000. She is well known for her focus on beautiful fabrics and hand finishes and has been hailed as the designer making the biggest waves in British fashion by American Vogue.

Temperley Bridal is an important part of the Temperley offering after the first bridal dresses were created following Alice’s own wedding to Lars Von Bennigsen, the CEO of Temperley Ltd, in 2002. This year sees the launch of the ‘Ophelia 2012′ Temperley Bridal collection, offering for the first time a selection of ready to wear dresses that will be available outside of the Temperley Bridal salons as well as online at temperleylondon.com.

Claire Pettibone – A Whimsical, Wonderful & Gorgeous wedding dress collection…Swoon!!

The first time I saw photos of the Claire Pettibone collection for 2013…honestly my heart almost stopped. It only took one look. Just a visual fantasy of bridal, vintage loveliness come true! The show features her gorgeous collection of beautiful dreamy lacy dresses embellished with the most amazing detail, style and grace. It’s as if each piece is made for a beautiful, timeless, ethereal fairy…with such elegance and style you cannot believe. The flow of dreamy white/ivory lace, the colors of the intertwining big flowers on their heads and the barefoot essence of the collection is a bohemian brides dream come true. A vintage bride’s must see! A truly fabulous collection! There are no words…well, kind of a few…haha.. – just stunning!!
